Bmw oil service indicator?

When I turn my car on below the gauges it sayd oil service 9500 miles. Does that mean I have 9500 miles to go till it needs to be serviced or does it mean ive gone 9500 miles and need to get it serviced? Its a 2001 330ciBmw oil service indicator?
It's a countdown. It's not one for one though. High revs and cold engine driving count as additional miles on the counter so that you end up changing it sooner, just as you would if you didn't have a counter and drove a lot of stop and go or short distances.Bmw oil service indicator?
This means you have 9,500 miles until next oil service is due. This is easy to reset yourself as well once the service is carried out.
Yes above are correct. It's a countdown. Now if you pass that mark, the number will trun negative. Meaning if you drove 10,000 miles, it would show -500 at that point.
