My MINI's due an oil service but does this mean it has no oil at the moment?

My dashboard says that I'm due an Oil Service but I need to know if I'm okay to drive my car until I get this done in about a week. I checked the oil and there's still some in it. It probably could do with a top up though so I don't know what to do. I can't get it into a garage until next week. Please advise? Thanks :)My MINI's due an oil service but does this mean it has no oil at the moment?
Don't top it off if you don't know how, over filling with oil can cause more problems! Here is how to check it http://www.ehow.com/how_103_check-oil.ht鈥?/a>

Check to see if it is between the two lines on the dipstick, if so, you will be ok to wait a week. You may want to look in the owners manual or check your warranty, you would not want to void that!

if there is no oil in it it would have made some horrible noises and died!

Oil needs replacing at regular mileage intervals, typically 5K, but you ought to read the owners hand book or go and buy one, before you do any thing else.
