Open the BMW reset tool connection under the hood. It's a twist off cap type thing on the passenger side, by the air pump of 96+ 3-series E36's. You will see a bunch of holes for pins of an electrical connector. You can buy the oil rest tool, and BMW reset tool... or you can just connect (connect meaning with a wire) PIN #7 to ground... or pin #7 to pin #19 (pin 19 is ground). Turn your ignition on, leave it on, turn it off.. (basically just keep cycling it on and off.. you need to leave it in one position or the other for 10 to 20 seconds or so.. until it will reset it).. and you have all green lights.

you need a tool or go back to your dealer or oil service place
