Service engine soon light means some component has failed to meet the guide lines put forth for keeping smog levels low.(eg.You could have left the gas cap to loose.)
go to your local auto parts store and they will tell you. as far as the light have a mechanic look at it.
5W30 or 10W40 depending upon where you live. Usually a check engine light means you have a bad oxygen sensor. Take it the dealer and have them scan it to be sure.
